Gate City Time Trial

This evening was a 6-mile individual time trial. It was at the same location as last year but in the reverse direction. Plus, the pavement was freshly oiled so that made the road surface a bit sticky. Heather was fortunate to borrow Ted’s TT bike as Heather and my start times were too close to try and both use our Javelin. After seeing her results we realized if it wasn’t for Ted’s TT bike, she probably would have lost the lead in GC.

Even though my legs felt tired I rode the time trial consistently and pushed it as hard as I could. When I warmed up I realized that my saddle position wasn’t where it should have been so I made some changes and it really helped. During the TT it felt very comfortable whereas, at Elkhorn, I kept having to push myself back up on the saddle because it was tilted too far down. That could explain at least part of my really poor TT time at Elkhorn. This time I ended up with a decent time which was good for 8th in the TT, moving me into 9th on GC.
