Tonight I joined about 40-50 other cyclists to show support for the Idaho Velodrome & Cycling Park project. This undertaking has been in the works for a year and a half and it’s looking like it’s really shaping up. The City of Eagle has earmarked money to help develop the unique cross-discipline cycling facility and ground-breaking will occur in 2007. After a quick tempo ride downtown, we met at Camel’s Back Park for an easy spin to the site. It is located on Old Horseshoe Bend Road next to the skateboard park. Everyone is excited about the prospect of getting a velodrome in Boise. It’s been talked about for years, but it looks like it’s finally coming to fruition.
