Progressing Well

These ducks were hanging out in our front yard this morning so I tried to get some pics but they seemed camera shy. We don’t have any water features in our subdivision so I wonder if they got tired of hanging out at Brookwood which has many ponds. What gets me is why ducks always walk across Floating Feather when they can fly? Maybe they’re just lazy!

Anyway, I had a short, intense workout today with some more Lactate Threshold (LT) work. I headed up Hwy 55 and did a 35-minute interval on the way up and then a 15-minute interval on the way back. They went well, based on both wattage and perceived exertion. Img_7225_2I think I can safely say that I’m out of the overtraining hole, but I will continue to slowly increase my chronic training load (CTL). It peaked out at 103 a few weeks ago, but after backing off, it is now down to 89. I’d like to get it up to 110 and keep it there for the remainder of the season (with an obligatory break every few weeks). But I’ll be listening to my body first and foremost, so if that means my CTL ceiling is 100, then that’s what I’ll try to maintain.

You may have noticed that a couple things look different around here. I updated my training load chart as well as the interval chart I use to summarize workouts. Other than some formatting changes, I added miles to the ride summary panel and workout type and route to the interval chart. To see the interval chart just click the panel in the upper right corner of this post.
