December MAP Test #1

20071201mapSince it’s December 1st and it feels like my fitness is progressing well, I decided to do another MAP test. I followed the same protocol as usual. I used the MAP test HTML application again, to help me follow the appropriate wattage ramp (5 watts every 15 seconds).

20071201map_2I ended up with a last minute average of 406 watts, my best result yet! I even beat my test from last season. But last season I only did one test in mid-January. This year I’m set on doing these once every few weeks and in conjunction with my wattage and perceived exertion during lactate threshold workouts, use them to determine my current functional threshold power (FTP).
