Shoveling and VO2s

Click to view intervalsWe received yet more snow over the past 24 hours. I estimate it to be another 6″. It took Heather and me almost an hour to clear our driveway and sidewalk. After our “strength” work, we both jumped on our respective indoor training devices; Heather on her trainer and me on my rollers.

After a 20-minute warm-up I did some VO2 intervals. They hurt but I was able to crank out the wattage. I alternated between the 16- and 17-tooth cog each interval, giving my legs a little variety in cadence. I wanted to do five reps, but it was not in the cards. The third and fourth ones were were brutal!
